2016, What a year it has been!

December is a month where I pause and reflect on the year. Take stock of what I did and didn’t do. I had planned to share my post about “Why do you do what you do”, until I came across this great idea from blogger Phumeza Langa https://onmogul.com/stories/2016-live-learn-love-grow-and-survive and i decided to give it a try.

1. What did you do in 2016 that you’d never done before?
I cant think of anything new that i did that i have never done before.
2. Did you keep your new years resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I did not keep all my 2016 goals and yes I will make more for 2017. I have already started.
3. How will you be spending your New Year’s Eve?
At church with my husband and mother.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes, my dad.

5. What countries did you visit this year?
None, but was still fortunate to go on a couples retreat in the Western Cape.
6. What would you like to have in 2017 that you lacked in 2016?
A car and a great paycheck with benefits.
7. What date from 29016 will remain etched in your memory, and why?
19 July 2016. The day my dad passed away.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Completing my Copywriting for brands course.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not being consistent.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes is did, but I thank God that today I am healed.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A birthday gift for my husband. It wasn’t a big gift, but it was one of the best gifts I bought for him this year.
12. Where did moist of your money go?
Food and holiday savings.

13. What song will always remind you of 2016?
Nothing without you by Dr Tumi.
14. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Saved more money.
15. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Stressing.
16. What were your favourite TV shows?
Idols SA and The Queen.
17. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
I don’t hate anyone. I hate certain actions people do but not people.
18. What was the best book you read?
The Circle Maker by Mark.

19. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Dr Tumi.
20. What was your favourite film of this year?
The War Room. I only got to watch it this year.
21. What did you do on your birthday?
Went to work during the day and celebrated with a dinner for two at this fancy restaurant that now marks one of my favourite places to eat in Durban.
22. What kept you sane?
The word of God and my best friend’s advises.
23. Who do you miss?
My dad and my grandpa.
24. Who was the best new person you met?
I don’t have only one! I met a lovely bunch of people at East Coast Radio.
25. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learnt in 2016?
When you and your spouse are on the same side, you are unbeatable!

26. What are you most grateful for?
The gift of life. Life is a treasure given to us as we fulfill our purpose here on earth.
