It’s been a while since I’ve written for the website. Two years to be precise.
That’s not to say I haven’t been writing. I just haven’t been writing for Unashamedly Her. Somewhere along the way, procrastinating got the better of me. For someone who has always believed in betting on herself, that’s hard to admit. But betting on yourself is uncomfortable when you realise you might be the very obstacle to your own vision.
So, What Have I Been Up To?
GROWTH.
I’ve advanced in different areas of my life. But if I’m honest, I often felt like I wasn’t doing enough for Unashamedly Her. It felt like it took the back seat to everything else, especially when I wasn’t physically building the organisation.
And even when I did have the time…It felt like every idea I had was met with the same instruction from God: not now.
When Waiting Feels Like Falling Behind
The lack of visible progress can easily lead to comparison. You start looking around to see if you’re the only one on pause. You look for others in the “waiting room” so you can feel better about your waiting season. But not everyone has the same instruction as you. Even yet, this doesn’t change the lack of proactiveness in the physical easily resulting in bargaining with God.
And yet, the questions still came…
“When is the next event? This city needs one too.”
“When is the next vlog coming, can we at least have some consistency!”
Meanwhile, you would also like to know. Delighted to move a step ahead to the right direction.
But we were camping. Waiting. Wrestling with God.
And now, here we are.
STARTING AGAIN.
To You Currently in The Wilderness To many of you who have been in the wilderness of your dreams coming true, you started a business and now you are stuck at the next steps. You want to resurrect that passion but not sure how to after failed attempts of not trying. Maybe you have been overwhelmed by the dream concept however the demands of your life don’t allow you to fund it from your own pocket Welcome home. I know exactly how that feels.
What’s Next?
Yet the Lord says, ‘During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet.’ Deut 29v5 (NIV)
This scripture paints such a powerful picture. Even in the wilderness, where nothing looked like progress, God preserved what they had. No visible “advancement” according to us fleshly understanding, yet no deterioration was detected either.
I don’t know how Unashamedly Her will unfold over the next ten years, but I know this, I’m trusting God with the last thing He said to me. Often times, even the instruction from God can be unsettling, but we rely on that peace that surpasses all understanding to guide us through the wilderness.
So…
We’ll write one blog post at a time.
Once a month.
And we’ll see where He leads.
You’ll hear from other writers too. Voices that bring fresh perspective.
One thing we promise you,
You will be empowered to step into your “again”. But this time, you’ll inquire of the Lord every step of the way.
Here’s to starting again.
